Overview
Wright State University was founded in 1967 as a metropolitan university to serve and improve the
quality of life for the citizens of greater Dayton and the Miami Valley. From its beginning it has been an
institution created by and for the people of the Greater Miami Valley and the Celina-St. Mary’s area
served by the Lake Campus. The university first opened its doors on September 8, 1964, as the Dayton
Campus of Miami University and Ohio State University. |
