Admission Deadlines for Graduate Programs:
The graduate counseling and rehabilitation counseling programs review and admit new students twice a year. You are eligible to begin your program the following semester after you are admitted (i.e., students admitted in the fall are eligible to start taking classes in the spring semester, and so on). The deadline to have all required application materials submitted to the Graduate School is as follows:
Spring 2014 Semester Admission: September 20, 2013
Fall 2014 Semester Admission: February 21, 2014
Spring 2015 Semester Admission: September 19, 2014
Only complete applications will be forward to the Department of Human Services Office for review. Please check with the Graduate School to determine if your application is complete (937-775-2976). After department review, successful candidates will be invited to a required group interview (successful candidates will receive invitation via mail). Group interviews details are provided in invitation letter.
Exit Requirements
Students admitted to the Department of Human Services graduate degree programs will be required to take a comprehensive written examination during the last term of their program. Graduates of the MHC program may submit his or her score from the Ohio licensure examination in place of a department comprehensive written examination. Program areas may have additional exit requirements in addition to the written examination and may include:
1) a scholarly paper.
2)
a research project.
3)
a thesis (M.A. degree option).

Applications packets are available in the Lobby of MO52 CAC
- Complete pre-requisites:
- Registered for next to last or last term of coursework on program of study
- 3.0 G.P.A.
- Approved program of study on file
- Advisor written verification of remediation IF third administration
- Register during first four weeks of the quarter with program area secretary in M052 CAC (during first two weeks for summer quarter).
- Registration and pre-requisites will be verified by departmental graduate assistant. Letters will only be sent to students not meeting pre-requisites.
** A petition/appeal process exists for those not meeting the requirements as stated. Students with special needs are encouraged to contact the department for consideration of special arrangements.
Graduation
Students begin the process for graduation AT LEAST the term BEFORE they are to graduate. The application to graduate is available at the Graduate School at Wright State University, E344 Student Union (937) 775 2976
