TEACHER LEADER
Master’s of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction + Endorsement

Semester-Based Program beginning fall 2012 semester

The Teacher Leader M.Ed. Program is the foundational master’s degree program emphasizing curricular and instructional leadership to which candidates may add endorsement and/or licensure credentials.  The program consists of 30-semester hours of coursework and field-based activities designed for completion within two years, including summers.  Advised flexible scheduling and course delivery options are available.  For example, accelerated individual or cohort scheduling and/or online, hybrid, face-to-face, and off-campus site delivery options are offered.  Candidates complete a professional portfolio as part of their program’s exit requirements.  Previous graduate-level coursework may be evaluated and potentially accepted as course substitutions when appropriate.  Candidates seeking an administrative license must take additional courses upon completing the Teacher Leader M.Ed. Program to obtain their licensure goals.

The Teacher Leader Endorsement Program’s design allows its candidates to complete the program within two terms.  The program’s nine semester hours consist of coursework and associated field-based activities.  All three 3-hour endorsement courses are embedded and delivered within the Teacher Leader M.Ed. Program.  Endorsement candidates may complete the endorsement program outside the master’s degree program if they have a previous master’s degree.  Due to the unique nature of the content and fieldwork, transferring credits for these courses is not considered.  Candidates completing the endorsement program may apply to the Ohio Department of Education for the Teacher Leader Endorsement, a criterion of the Tier 4 Lead Professional Educator License.
