The Teacher Leader Program is a planned master's degree level program designed to be completed within three years, including summers, with forty-eight (48) quarter hours of graduate-level work beyond the bachelor's degree. Each student is required to complete a professional portfolio as part of his/her exit requirements for the program. Previous graduate-level coursework will be evaluated and accepted as course substitutions when appropriate. This program is designed for teachers who plan to remain in the classroom. Upon completion of the program, students receive a Master's in Education (M.Ed.). In many instances, Teacher Leader Program graduates can apply for tenure in their school districts. Students who desire an administrative license as a supervisor, principal, or superintendent may take additional courses upon completion of the Teacher Leader Program to attain their goals.
