Improve your leadership skills. The Department of Educational Leadership offers a planned program of study to obtain a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. Choose from concentrations in Principalship, Superintendent, or Curriculum, Instruction: Professional Development. Additional coursework will qualify you for a license.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Acceptable score on the Miller's Analogy Test or the Graduate Record Examination or undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or greater.
  • Admission to the School of Graduate Studies.

CURRICULUM, INSTRUCTION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Administrative Specialist License

Students seeking a license in Administrative Specialist: Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development (CI:PD) must hold a current teaching certificate or license and a masters degree in Educational Leadership. Students who do not have a current (expired) teaching credential must complete the renewal requirements for a license prior to the granting of the license in CI:PD.

Upon successful completion of the CI:PD licensure program of study and three years of teaching experience under a valid teaching certificate or license and a masters degree in Educational Leadership and passing the Praxis II exam in Educational Leadership: Administration and Supervision (#10410), the holder of an Ohio standard teaching credential is eligible for a license in Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development (CI:PD) (#281300).

Note: CI:PD is designed for individuals wishing to perform in a district-level leadership role.

A Masters degree in Educational Leadership is required as a prerequisite for Educational Specialist admission. An Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree is awarded when a masters degree plus 45 hours is successfully attained.
